2012 – The New Entity adopted in Massachusetts in December of 2012, making Massachusetts the 11th State to Adopt Such Legislation. What this legislation does, it ‘legitimizes’ what some Progressive companies may already be doing. That is, to benefit their existing Stakeholders while also ensuring that their ‘Shareholders’ are on Board with this new Progressive and Sustainable philosophy.
With the assistance of Millennials, the sustainable corporation is replacing the traditional ‘For Profit’ entity that had long pervaded American culture since the American Industrial Revolution. Today, this new generation demands accountability, sustainability, green energy, and inclusivity.
The “new Trilogy” model for success is for decision and policy makers to look at business as: People, Planet & Profits over the “traditional” business model of only “Profits” With this new philosophy in place, corporations can be assured that they will attract new consumers, those who are attracted to ‘Green’ companies, those who care about the planet, those that value their workforce, and who car about making a difference. These are the business models of the future, the new consumers demand it, and our society will be better for it.
